Until a few years ago rather an insider tip, the Zellertal today ties back to its long, outstanding wine-growing tradition. Its cool climate and calcareous soils produce particularly mineral and clear wines and awaken it from its slumber. The Schwedhelm winery, a family business in the Southern Palatinate, is one of the wineries that have helped the Zellertal to new splendor and is located at an altitude of almost 300 meters in the middle of the vineyards above Zell.
A few years ago, the brothers Stephan and Georg Schwedhelm took over the winery from their parents and are now allowed to join the VDP - Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter (Union of German quality wine makers). Zellertal wines stand for rich, exciting and cool wines and single vineyard wines let you experience the unique terroirs.
