The history of the Spindler family winery, now in its 11th generation, goes back to the year 1620 when Sontag Spindler came to the Palatinate village of Forst. The company grew steadily over the years, until three generations ago it was divided into three production companies. Today Markus Spindler is responsible for the Heinrich Spindler Estate. Situated on the old local road of Forst and directly adjacent to the "Freundstück" location, the Spindler family can take proper care of the rarest and smallest location in Forst. The site Freundstück benefits from the warmth radiated from the surrounding buildings and although the microclimate is relatively warm, it cools down more during the night than the neighbor vineyard Kirchenstück. The classification of this site is based on the Royal Bavarian Land Classification of 1828, which places the Freundstück at the pinnacle of the Palatinate vineyards. The name Freundstück is derived from the family name Freund, the family which first was documented to own this vineyard in the year 1460. The name Freund is the German term for friend. So, may you can also use this wine to give as a special gift to a special friend.
An extremely crisp Riesling from the hot 2019 vintage, whose acidity integrates perfectly with the herbal and spicy aromas. A first-class example of German Riesling art.
