This Riesling comes from the Ürziger Würzgarten, certainly one of the best Moselle steep slopes with south to southeast orientation and unique red slate weathering soils. Riesling is the undisputed No. 1 here in general and in the Markus Molitor winery in particular. In the cool climate of the river valley, this Kabinett wine shows its strength as a light wine with little alcohol and appealing acidity, fine spicy, fruity and magnificently juicy.
Drunk early on, a Moselle cabinet is a delight. But especially the best qualities often unfold their full potential only after a few years and then inspire with the first tire loads.
A lush wine with a lot of finesse. Apricot, lychee, currant, peach, apple and – typical of the location – spicy and smoky notes such as flint or wet stones. Some honey, crumbly apple, flowers and very little marzipan indicate that there are already several years of experience in the bottle; in every respect.
