Winery Kruger-Rumpf was founded in the 1790s and like most vine-growers at this time, the family sold most of their grape-production to larger houses or cooperatives. Until 1984, when Stefan Rumpf started to produce his own wines. Today, his two sons are running the winery: Georg is responsible for production while Philipp is taking care of marketing and sales. Both have studied oenology at Geisenheim and are now bringing the winery to the next quality level. The estate is located in Münster-Sarmsheim in the wine-growing region “Nahe”. This area is famous for its huge geological diversity: There is hardly any soil-type you will not find in the steep vineyards of Nahe! This off-dry Riesling, for example, is influenced by slate-soil: An elegant wine with fresh citrus aroma, pronounced mineral notes and well-balanced levels of residual sugar and acid. It pairs well with seafood, but it can also partner spicy sauces like Teriyaki due to its slight sweetness.
