This mineral and elegant Pinot Blanc “rocks” and fills the nose with fresh pear and apple aromas, and light notes of aniseed. You’re left with a fresh citrus palate, and a lively acidic finish. We bet that you are wondering why we have a rocking monkey on this BASF Exclusive Wine label. The monkey symbolizes the history of the small wine-growing village of Ilbesheim in Southern Palatinate where this wine is made. The people living in neighboring villages often referred to the Ilbesheimers as monkeys. This was not meant as an insult, but rather a positive way to describe the villagers’ curiosity, their joie de vivre, and their playful nature.
And this powerful but still elegant Pinot Blanc rocks! The nose is dominated by fresh pear and apple aromas, and some light notes of aniseed. On the palate you will detect minerality, fresh citrus, and a lively acidic finish. A full-bodied Pinot Blanc matured in barrique barrels that is breaking free from traditional boundaries with full force. Let’s Rock!
