The Kimich winery was founded in 1758, making it one of the oldest wineries in the famous wine town of Deidesheim. The foundation stone was laid by Andreas Kimich, a wine cooper who had immigrated from Alsace to the Palatinate and came across vineyards there through marriage to a wealthy widow. Today, Franz Arnold and his son Matthias are the 8th generation to take care of the approximately 18 hectares of vineyards, 70% of which are Riesling. The expansion takes place in the more than 200-year-old vaulted cellars of the estate directly on the wine route. The Herrgottsacker Riesling is spicy, powerful and has a good fruit-acidity interplay.
